Why Facilitators Should Take Catalyst

by | Apr 11, 2023 | Catalyst, EPIC Account Insights | 0 comments

Catalyst is unique in that the user experience is only available to respondents.

Let me explain…

The “Old Days” vs. Catalyst

Before Catalyst, an administrator would generate and download the report that the respondent would see. Sometimes the online results were withheld from the learner so that the report could be printed and then handed out in the class for a surprise reveal.

The facilitator would have that same report to review and use as the basis of the training.

Catalyst differs in two key ways. First, while there is a report that can be downloaded as a PDF (by the admin or the respondent), the results are available immediately upon completing the assessment. Second, the admin or facilitator can’t see the user experience on the Catalyst platform without actually being on the Catalyst platform.

Understanding the User Experience on Catalyst Means Being on Catalyst

Catalyst does things a PDF cannot. Catalyst connects people within the organization, in essence creating a community of people within the company or group.  In order to experience what the members of this community experience, you have to be a part of it. And the only way to be a part of it is to have completed the assessment and be placed within the organization.

How Do I Get on Catalyst?

The first step, of course, is to complete the Catalyst assessment. This establishes a Catalyst record for you in the system and gives you access to the platform.

If you are an internal facilitator (meaning you are an employee of the company for which you do training), you would have assigned yourself to the organization and when you complete the assessment, you’re there! You will be able to see everyone else in the organization that has completed the Everything DiSC on Catalyst assessment.

What if I am not Part of the Organization?

If you’re an “outside” facilitator, the process is a little different. The first step is still to complete the Catalyst assessment. Within EPIC (the Everything DiSC and Five Behaviors administration system), you would simply edit your record and change the organization you are assigned to.

Once you have done this, the next time you log into Catalyst, you will no longer see the people in your own organization. Instead you will see the members of the organization for which you are doing the training.

When the training is over, just edit your record again and move yourself back into your own organization.

Don’t Forget the Kit!

While Catalyst is easy to understand, it’s more powerful when learners are guided through the results by an experienced facilitator.

The Everything DiSC on Catalyst Facilitation Kit provides training programs for all three components of Catalyst: Workplace, Management and Agile EQ, in both virtual and in-person versions.

Jump-start your training program with ready-built curriculum, available in our online store.
