Everything DiSC on Catalyst FAQs

For most people, Catalyst is a far better way to experience DiSC. Instead of receiving a static PDF with your results, Catalyst presents the material through an online, interactive platform. Catalyst enables one-to-one comparisons between you and others in your organization, specific tips on working together more effectively. It also supports group mapping and all of this is the same price as the traditional, PDF-based Workplace profile.

Learn more on our Catalyst page .

Indefinitely! Once you complete your Catalyst assessment, you gain instant access to the Catalyst platform with no expiration date. And there are no extra fees for continued access, unless you choose to add a new set of results.

Every Catalyst assessment includes the Everything DiSC Workplace results. In addition, Agile EQ and Management are also available as inexpensive add-ons.

Once a respondent has completed the comprehensive Catalyst assessment, these add-on applications can simply be enabled by an administrator (by paying the add-on cost) without additional effort by the respondent.

The Catalyst curriculum for virtual training supports a wide range of platforms. The Advanced curriculum requires polling, annotation and breakout rooms. If your preferred platform lacks any of these, you may wish to use the Basic curriculum.

The primary difference between Basic and Advanced curriculum is how the activities are structured. The objectives and learning points are the same.

The Catalyst Facilitation Kit contains course materials and videos for Workplace, Agile EQ and Management. There are versions for both classroom (in-person) and virtual sessions included.

The only people that can find you on Catalyst are others within your organization that have also completed a Catalyst assessment and that have not opted out of sharing (it’s on by default).

If you opt out of sharing, no one will be able to see you or your DiSC information, but you won’t be able to see any of your coworkers either. The comparison tool within the “Your colleagues” section is a powerful tool for improving your working relationships and we highly recommend that you keep it turned on.

Note that your information will always be visible to your Catalyst™ administrators, no matter what the setting.

The “Your colleagues” feature of the site showcases your similarities and differences with individual colleagues as well as strategies for working together. This feature draws on a portion of your assessment results, including your DiSC® style and some preferences and tendencies.

Yes, you can. In your profile settings, there is a Privacy section where you can turn off sharing with colleagues.

However, when you disable this function, you can no longer see any DiSC information about your colleagues. The ability to compare DiSC styles and explore strategies for working together is one of the most powerful functions on the Catalyst platform, so we highly recommend that you keep sharing turned on.

Yes! Simply select the applications and the quantity you want, add to cart and check out. We will need the name, email and organization for each person taking the assessment so that we can load it into the system. You can use our Catalyst setup form (also provided upon checkout) to make that easy for you.

We will have everything set up within one business day (and often in a few hours or less) upon receiving the setup form.

You sure can! While Catalyst provides online access to results, you can still get a PDF file of the results. To do that:

  • Log into Catalyst
  • Click on the “hamburger menu” (the three horizontal lines in the upper-right corner of the screen)
  • From the panel that appears on the left, choose Download Reports
  • Check the boxes to include results by section
  • Click the Download button
  • Open the downloaded file and print it

Once you download the report, you could also email it to someone else. There is no limit to the number of times you can download the file.

On Catalyst, the “Your groups” function is included free with every assessment! Every user can create multiple custom DiSC maps, each with up to 25 people from the same organization. Maps can be shared with other group members and contain tools for exploring group dynamics. To learn more, see our article “Your groups” on Catalyst.

DISC (uppercase “i”) refers to the original behavioral model created by William Marston.

DiSC (lowercase “i”) refers to a specific implementation of DiSC, currently published by Wiley.

Everything DiSC is the latest generation of DiSC assessments, also published by Wiley. This version of DiSC has several applications (Workplace, Management, Agile EQ, Productive Conflict, Sales, and Work of Leaders) available in the traditional PDF form, and introduces the Catalyst platform. Catalyst is web-based and can deliver results for Workplace, Management, and Agile EQ but also has interactive functions for coworker comparisons and for exploring group dynamics.

Everything DiSC Certification FAQs

Yes. Everything DiSC Certification requires every facilitator to have the Everything DiSC Catalyst Facilitation Kit (or an upgradable Workplace, Management or Agile EQ kit). This is because the credential being earned is that of “Certified Practitioner”. As part of the course, you will learn not only about the DiSC model and theory, you will also learn how to use Catalyst in a training environment.

If you already have an existing EPIC Account with another provider, we recommend purchasing certification from them as well. If they don’t offer Certification, you’re not happy with your current provider, or can’t remember where you purchased your kit, please contact us. We’ll verify your kit’s serial number and get you signed up!

The Everything DiSC Certified Practitioner credential never expires. And if you have a previous Everything DiSC Certified Workplace Facilitator or Certified Management Facilitator credential, they never expire either!

Yes! The exact organizations and number of credits may vary, but credits have been available for SHRM, HRCI, aptc/cptd, and CCE.

For the current details, refer to the Everything DiSC Certification page or the Five Behaviors Certification page.

Everything DISC Certification covers the core elements of Everything DiSC, use of the Catalyst platform and an overview of the other available applications. Learn more about Everything DiSC Certification. For details on the non-Catalyst applications (Sales, Productive Conflict, and Work of Leaders), we are happy to answer questions you have and provide a review of the contents of each kit.

There is, however, a separate certification program for The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team. The credential, “The Five Behaviors Certified Practitioner” is available through the Five Behaviors Certificatioon program.

The date shown for each Certification class is the date the online platform becomes available. The weekdays shown (“Mondays & Wednesdays”) are the days of the week that have live sessions. For example, a course might open on a Friday with live sessions on the Tuesday and Thursday of the following two weeks. This is done to allow time to complete the pre-work before the first live session.

Refer to the chart on the Certification product page to see specific dates.

Five Behaviors Certification FAQs

Yes. The Five Behaviors Accreditation requires access to the Five Behaviors Facilitation Kit. If your company has already licensed a kit, you don’t necessarily need to buy another one, but you will need access to the kit in order to complete the course materials.

This is because the credential being earned is that of “Accredited Facilitator”. As part of the course, you will learn not only about the Five Behaviors model, but also how to use the kit materials to work with an intact team on their development.

If you already have an existing EPIC Account with another provider, we recommend purchasing certification from them as well. If they don’t offer Certification, you’re not happy with your current provider, or can’t remember where you purchased your kit, please contact us. We’ll verify your kit’s serial number and get you signed up!

The Five Behaviors Accredited Facilitator credential is valid for two years from the date of the exam. As the initial expiration date nears, a re-accreditation course can be completed, after which the credential becomes permanent.

Yes! The exact organizations and number of credits may vary, but credits have been available for SHRM, HRCI, aptc/cptd, and CCE.

For the current details, refer to the Everything DiSC Certification page or the Five Behaviors Certification page.

Yes! You can earn 19 Professional Development Credits upon earning The Five Behaviors Accredited Facilitator credential.

PDCs can also be earned by completing Everything DiSC Certification.

The date shown for each Certification class is the date the online platform becomes available. The weekdays shown (“Mondays & Wednesdays”) are the days of the week that have live sessions. For example, a course might open on a Friday with live sessions on the Tuesday and Thursday of the following two weeks. Workshop FAQs

The details vary by the individual workshop, but they all include the corresponding assessment(s) for the class topic, at least one training session, and all handouts needed for the course.

Virtual classes include our state-of-the art virtual classroom, facilitator and some classes also use a moderator.

In-person classes include audio-visual equipment (laptop, projector and speaker), the facilitator and typically one support person. Our prices do not include venue rental or items typically supplied by a venue, such as the screen for the projector, tables, chairs and food or beverage. We can provide full event management upon request.

Should you need to reschedule the training due to an unforeseen conflict, we will work with you to reschedule to a mutually acceptable date. Should you wish to cancel a workshop, we retain the deposit, however you retain all of the assessment results and/or access to Catalyst and any other materials provided up to the date of cancellation.

See our Workshop Terms and Conditions for full details.

Generally speaking, training outcomes suffer when there are too few or too many participants. Here is what we suggest:

Virtual Training – A minimum of five people is recommended, but 12-18 is better. In theory, we can accommodate any number of people in a virtual classroom, but in practice the limit is about 24. Beyond this number, activities are cumbersome and discussions can’t include everyone. When the experience is less personal, some learners disengage. For this reason, we cap most virtual training classes at 24 participants, with larger groups handled via a webinar format.

Webinar – For the DiSC Fundamentals class, we offer a webinar format to review results for large groups. This is a guided tour of Catalyst and covers the basics of the DiSC results, however there is limited interaction. We recommend this option only when budgets are extremely limited. This option is not listed in our catalog, so please contact us to or submit a Workshop Request Form make arrangements.

In-person Training – Provided the room is sufficiently-sized, in-person training can accommodate more learners. We recommend no fewer than 8-9 people, a class size of 18-24 is ideal and larger classes are workable.

Five Behaviors Team Workshops – This is the only workshop with a specific size recommendation: This program is designed for intact teams of 5 to 12 people, with at least 6 months of tenure working together. With fewer than five or more than twelve team members, the course is less effective and is therefore not recommended. The Five Behaviors Personal Development workshop follows the other guidelines as outline previously.

During the height of the pandemic we ceased all in-person training. As lock-downs and restrictions are lifted, we are accepting inquiries for in-person training. These are being considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the workshop environment and local conditions.

Our virtual workshops are divided into sessions of 90 to 120 minutes each. Most programs require more than one session, which we recommend conducting on different days. This avoids “Zoom fatigue” and allows the concepts introduced in one session to be studied and practiced before the next session.

In-person workshops are usually a half-day or a full-day, depending on the topic.

Sure. We think 10 is a good minimum number of participants, which is why each workshop includes 10 profiles. However, we will run sessions with the people you have. Any unused assessments will remain available for you to use at any point in the future.

EPIC Accounts - Frequently Asked Questions

With an EPIC Account, this costs nothing! Your logo and up to seven lines of custom text appear on every report cover. You can also re-name any of the profile titles and specify the name displayed on email messages sent by the system.

An EPIC account usually costs between $150 and $250, however we don’t charge a setup fee and we’ll cover the cost with an initial purchase of just 100 credits. That’s equivalent to roughly 7 Workplace or Catalyst profiles).

EPIC Credits never expire. There is no risk in purchasing ahead and because the credits can be used for any Everything DiSC or Five Behaviors profiles, you can still use the credits even if your specific needs change.

The main cost is the profile. Beyond that, if you are going to print the profiles, that is an extra cost. For conducting your own training classes, we highly recommend a facilitation kit. There are also some training add-ons available to complement some of the classes, but these are optional.

Aside from these optional items, there are no annual licensing or maintenance fees with Everything DiSC or The Five Behaviors.

Well, if it’s a race, the respondent would win. Seriously, though, the answer depends on the type of assessment and whether or not you have an EPIC Account.

Catalyst Profiles: The very nature of the Catalyst system is that respondents have access immediately upon completion of their assessment. This cannot be changed. If you have an EPIC Account, you can set it up so that you receive an email when assessments are completed. You can then download a PDF of the results. If you also have a Catalyst profile, you can also find the new profile in the “Your colleagues” section and see their style there.

Traditional Profiles: When you have an EPIC Account, you can choose whether or not the respondent gets to see the results immediately upon concluding the assessment. If you prefer, you can choose to see it first and then share it with them when you are ready. If you do not have an EPIC Account (and you purchased assessments from DiSC Training Hub), we can email the results to you for any profile that you purchased.

You can rename any of the profiles using report tailoring, a built-in functionality of the EPIC account. This does not carry any additional cost.

Your client’s email address resides in your EPIC account and unless you give us permission, we can’t even view your client’s data. The only email messages they receive would be generated by the system. You might receive an occasional email as an EPIC Account holder, but your clients will not be contacted directly.

You can be notified when someone completes the assessment, but not when they haven’t. You can easily run a report to see who hasn’t completed an assessment. The system does provide one scheduled reminder email to go out to those who haven’t completed an assessment and you can manually send additional reminders at any time.

EPIC Credits are the currency of EPIC, the back-end administration website for both Everything DiSC and The Five Behaviors. It’s similar to they way arcade games used to be played. You bought some tokens and then used those tokens to play games. Some games used more tokens than other games and some reports in EPIC cost more credits than others. In order to use EPIC Credits, you need to have an EPIC Account.

Comparison Reports are created using the results of any two people that have completed any of the Everything DiSC assessments. There are three ways of creating them: 1) As the administrator of the EPIC account, you can create these reports manually. 2) If the two people in question have created their free My Everything DiSC accounts, they can, by mutual agreement, do the comparison themselves online using an interactive tool or they can download the complete report. 3) If the two people are in the same organization on the Catalyst platform, comparisons are freely available. In all cases, there is no cost to create these reports.

When someone has completed a Catalyst assessment (for 15 credits) you can add the results from additional applications (like Agile EQ) for just 10 additional credits. The respondent will get an email telling them the new info is available. Most applications will not require any additional questions to be answered; the results just appear.

To add EQ to an existing Catalyst record:

  • In EPIC, go to the Manage Reports menu
  • Choose Catalyst: Add Applications to Access Codes
  • Find the records you want and put a check next to them
  • Hit Next > >
  • On the next screen, check the Agile EQ box and click Save

If the respondent has completed an assessment that isn’t Catalyst, you can upgrade them to Catalyst for free (through December, 2022) and add the Agile EQ to that for 10 credits. We have article on how to do the upgrade: How to Use an Existing Report to Create a New Assessment

Because it takes 15 EPIC Credits to create one workplace profile. And 15 multiplied by $6.00 equals $90.00. Other profiles may require more credits, resulting in a higher cost.

Keep in mind that these are retail prices. EPIC Account holders receive preferred corporate pricing, which can reduce the cost significantly. This is because as an EPIC Account holder, you are taking on the administrative duties (which are actually quite light). For retail sales, we are taking care of the administration.

Everything DiSC and Five Behaviors Facilitation Kits

Facilitation Kit FAQs

The Catalyst curriculum for virtual training supports a wide range of platforms. The Advanced curriculum requires polling, annotation and breakout rooms. If your preferred platform lacks any of these, you may wish to use the Basic curriculum.

The primary difference between Basic and Advanced curriculum is how the activities are structured. The objectives and learning points are the same.

The Catalyst Facilitation Kit contains course materials and videos for Workplace, Agile EQ and Management. There are versions for both classroom (in-person) and virtual sessions included.

Facilitation kits and DiSC profiles are sold separately. While training classes can be built without a kit, the reverse is not true: The kits are designed specifically around the corresponding profile. The material would not be of much use without the learners having taken the assessment.

Kits contain course materials (PowerPoint decks, Leader’s Guides, handout masters), all of which can be freely edited and customized.

Generally, yes, but virtual support varies by kit.

The Catalyst Facilitation Kit was designed from the start to support both virtual and in-person training. It comes with both versions for Fundamentals, Workplace, Agile EQ and Management.

The traditional, non-Catalyst kits have had updates to support virtual training, mostly in the form of adapting activities to a virtual classroom and providing streaming links for the videos.

A Facilitation Kit is definitely not required. In fact, if your course objectives are very specific to your business or industry, a kit may not be worth it. Even then, though, the kit’s pre-built course materials are freely customizable and may be a great starting point.

Another advantage of the kits is the videos. Having people model the styles in context-specific situations is the often best way for learners to understand the differences in styles. While the kits are not inexpensive, creating a similar set of professional videos would cost many times the price of the kit.

Each facilitation kit is specific to one of the profiles in the Everything DiSC product suite. The curriculum in each kit aligns with the contents of the corresponding profile. So, the Management Facilitation Kit has modules that relate to the contents of the Management profile with videos and activities that support key concepts. The Work of Leaders Facilitation Kit address the contents of the leadership profile. The contents of the kits for Workplace, Productive Conflict, Agile EQ and Sales each match the content of their respective profiles.

The exception is the Catalyst Facilitation Kit. Catalyst is a web-based platform that allows respondents to interactively learn about DiSC and explore their results. This kit contains in-person and virtual course materials for Workplace, Agile EQ, and Management classes.

Purchasers of the Workplace, Agile EQ or Management Facilitation Kit have been eligible for a free upgrade to the Catalyst materials for all three of these applications (even if you only have one of the kits). Please see the relevant kit page or contact us to see of this special is still available.

Within hours! All facilitation kits are now delivered via digital download within hours of purchase. We have to process kit orders manually, but once we do, the system will send an email with a link and serial number, so you can register and download your kit right away.

Purchasing DiSC Profiles FAQs

For most assessments, you will have access to the results in minutes. After checkout, you will receive an email with a link to the assessment (which you can also find by visiting My Orders). Upon completing the assessment, you will have instant access to your results.

We said “most assessments” because there are two exceptions: Catalyst (without “Instant Access”) and The Five Behaviors Team Development profiles require some setup. We guarantee one business day turnaround for these assessments, but usually it only takes a few hours.

If you are purchasing an assessment for someone else to take, simply forward the link to the assessment to them. When completed, the respondent can download their report and you can ask them to email the results to you. Alternatively, we can forward the results to you, as the purchaser. You may specify this in the notes at checkout or contact us to request the results.

Note: If you would prefer that that respondent not be able to view the results, please contact us to make other arrangements (not available for Catalyst assessments).

If you just need a few or several assessments on a one-time or infrequent basis, just add them to your cart and check out. The order email will contain a unique link for each assessments purchased, which can then be distributed to the respondents. You can also find those links in My Orders.

If you are looking to purchase assessments on an ongoing basis, you may be better served by setting up an administration account. Learn more about EPIC Accounts to see if this is a good option for you.

Very rarely we see a sudden spike in demand and inventory of a certain profile may get very low. When this happens, our system is designed to allow you to purchase any number of profiles and give you access to as many profiles as we have on hand. The balance will be back-ordered.

As soon as we can replenish the inventory, the remainder of your order will be send out via email. During business hours, this happens very quickly (usually under an hour). Outside of business hours it can take up to several hours to receive all of your profiles.

The Assessment FAQs

No. The assessment website is very clean with minimal branding and no advertisements. The branding is Wiley (the assessment maker) and either our logo (if purchased from this site) or yours (if you get your own EPIC Account). Results come in a downloadable PDF file, again free of anything except results and minor branding.

The Everything DiSC products are often described as “simple without being simplistic”. This is one of DiSC’s great strengths. Everything DiSC is a third-generation, research-based instrument. And yet while the narrative is rich, it is easily understandable and provides a simple way of discussing human behaviors and interactions.

A traditional Everything DiSC assessment takes most people about 15-20 minutes to complete. However, one of the great things about Everything DiSC is “record re-use”. Once someone has completed any traditional assessment, subsequent assessments can re-use that data, requiring only a few additional questions to be answered.

The Catalyst assessment takes a little longer (20-25 minutes) but it collects data for multiple profiles. This allows additional results to be activated without respondents having to answer any additional questions.

Because of the additional team-based questions, The Five Behaviors assessments take a little longer to complete. However, the record re-use applies to these assessments, too, so anyone with an existing record will require relatively little time to complete a Five Behaviors assessment.assessments.

The Everything DiSC assessments are in their third generation and are measured to be 32% more accurate in determining someone’s style as compared to the original paper instruments. A full research report is available that details the validity and repeatability of the assessment.

The assessment site remembers where a respondent was, so if they quit or get disconnected, they can resume where they left off, by clicking on the original invitation link.

The Everything DiSC profiles are a premium product, compared to other DISC products on the market.

These profiles are research-based and fully validated instruments while most others are not. There is also tremendous value in having application-specific profiles (Agile EQ, Productive Conflict, Workplace, Management, Leadership, and Sales) that all interoperate, share a language to talk about behavioral differences and allow Comparison Reports (and other group reports) to be generated, even when people have completed different profiles.

If you’re feeling like the products are too inexpensive, sometimes this is because of confusion around EPIC Credits. One credit is just a few dollars, but it takes 15 credits to create one Workplace profile. Others profiles require 20, 25 or more to create.

Some of the paper-based products are still available, but we have chosen not to carry them in our online store. There are several reasons for this, but the main one is that the current generation of Everything DiSC products are vastly superior. They are far more accurate in identifying someone’s style and provide results that are richer, more insightful and, ultimately, more useful in improving interpersonal communications skills.

If you have a specific need for paper-based DiSC assessments, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.
