Catalyst is the best thing to happen to DiSC since the assessment became digital years ago. But Catalyst was only a front-end; a user-based platform. All administration was done via EPIC, and that had some limitations.
To remedy that, a new Catalyst Admin tool was added. This welcome addition to the administrator’s toolkit continues to innovate with expanded functionality. Most recently, the addition of the revolutionary Catalyst Practitioner Experience brings more support for admins and facilitators. Gain access to more materials and an online community of peers!
Getting Started with Catalyst Administration
Before you can use the Catalyst admin interface, you have to connect your EPIC Account to the Catalyst platform. This is called “syncing” the accounts and it’s done within EPIC.

Catalyst Administration Provides New Functions for Admins
We’re working on resources to help admins take maximum advantage of the new features in the Catalyst Admin tool. Many features are available that can also be done within EPIC, but some functions can only be done within Catalyst. Here is a breakdown:
EPIC Functions Also Available in Catalyst:
- Issue assessments
- Print reports (singles or in bulk)
- Send reminders
- Enable add-ons for Management and Agile EQ
Features Exclusive to Catalyst Admin
- View DiSC styles and privacy status of learners.
- Add, edit, delete departments and their assigned learners.
- Build groups without including the admin, share a group with the entire organization, import group members from a file, download the group map, and download learner data into a CSV file.
- Archive learners so that their account is still active, but not visible to others.
- Hide learners’ styles initially and reveal them later.
- Access the Catalyst Practitioner Experience.
Limitations of the Catalyst Admin Interface
There are a few limitations of the new Catalyst Admin features:
- Non-Catalyst assessments cannot be created or printed.
- Upgrading from non-Catalyst assessments is not supported.
- Catalyst Admin does not support folders.
- The organization of a record cannot be changed.
- Credits cannot be purchased from within the Catalyst admin interface.
All of these things can be done from within the traditional EPIC interface.
